This fall, get excited for Volta’s Storytime N Climb Extravaganza! We are teaming up with the Northeast Harbor, Jesup, and Ellsworth Public Libraries to bring you a monthly Storytime N Climb from September through November. Each month, an awesome local librarian will lead storytime at the gym. To wrap up the series, special guest Miss Chrissy returns to Volta in December for a grand finale. Join us for tales of perseverance and problem solving- featuring songs, rhymes, crafts + more.

A guaranteed fun morning for kids and families!

If you’re interested in staying and climbing, Volta’s program coordinator will give a short introduction and safety talk post storytime. Let our welcoming and experienced staff make it easy and enjoyable for you and your child to take your first steps into the exciting world of climbing!

Schedule

10:00 AM-11:00 AM Storytime!

• Everyone in the Volta facility must have a Volta waiver completed, even if you’re not climbing. Complete it ahead of time and save time at check-in.

• Meet on the mezzanine at Volta at 10:00 AM. The mezzanine is only accessible via stairs.

• Storytime is free! You’re welcome to join us for a fun morning and simply visit the space. 

• If you’re planning to stay and climb, you can pay at the front desk before or after storytime.
  

11:00 AM -11:10 AM Facilitated Intro to Climbing

• General climbing safety

• Parent’s responsibilites

• Climbing with small kids

• How to properly put on a harness 
  

11:10 AM-12:00 PM Climbing

• Staff will be available to belay on the ropes and help out in the bouldering section

• Feel free to stay and climb longer! However, our staff will only be available until 12 pm
