Adult Bouldering League

A red point-style team competition to have fun, challenge yourself and build camaraderie! If you don't have a team, don't worry - we'll match you with one. Come out, make new friends, and compete for a chance to win some cool prizes! 🏁 *Team Volta youth athletes are also eligible to participate.

New Climbs
Available each Monday at 4 pm. Participants have one week to complete the active week's climbs.

Team Size
Maximum of 4 people per team; no substitutions allowed. Free agents or individual participants will be assigned to a team.

Scoring

  • Flashes and onsights only count during the first day that you climb on the new set

  • Old problems can still be climbed after the first week, but won't count as a flash or onsight

  • Scorecards are kept at the front desk.

  • You must get one peer signature to confirm a climb for credit. This can be someone from your own team. We trust our community!

  • Each team member has an individual score with their Equalized Scoring Adjustment (ESA) that adds to their team score. Check out the How the Scoring Works explanation below for more information.

  • We’ll take your top ten boulder problems at the end of the 8 weeks

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No! You can climb any time during the week that Volta is open. Problems from previous weeks can still be climbed (+ count for points) after the first week they are set, but you can’t earn a bonus point for a flash.

  • Nope! Each team member will have their own scorecard which they can retrieve from the front desk, with or without their team members. Team members can climb throughout the week at different times.

  • Yes! After the following week’s boulders are set you may still climb an older set, but will not receive a bonus point for a flash.

  • No worries. Old problems can still be climbed after the first week they are set, but won’t count as a flash.

  • For sending a boulder which is graded equal to your Vmax you will receive 100 points. Sending a boulder which is graded above or below your Vmax will earn you either 10 more or 10 fewer points for each step in grade from your Vmax. A more detailed explanation of the scoring system is available in the section below.

  • Boulders will have a large range of difficulty. All boulders will be rated on the V-scale.

  • Yes!

  • That’s how we had to set it up in our system (Rock Gym Pro). Once you sign up you are set for the 8 weeks. We encourage all participants to join on Nov 4th for a group explanation of the rules and regulations and pizza but it is not required.
