ANxiety 101

a course for climbers

Tuesday, May 13th ● 6–7:30pm

Anxiety is part of climbing. Learn to work with it, not against it.

$45/person • Located at Volta Climbing Gym in Trenton, ME

There is a mountain of evidence demonstrating the benefits of physical activity for mental health.

Climbing, in particular, creates positive outcomes for depression and ADHD. The unique combination of technical, social, cognitive, and physical components in climbing, however, create an unparalleled relationship between the sport and anxiety.

Anxiety will always be part of climbing. Therefore, having an appropriate relationship to our anxiety is important if we want to perform well and maximize our climbing experience.

This course will be held in the Volta Homeroom and is designed to help participants re-frame their relationship to themselves and to benefit anyone. From climbers who simply want to better manage fears, to those diagnosed and struggling with anxiety disorders.
